I will dominate 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.
Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
